PROFILES

QB Profiles

  1. Ryan Leaf, Washington State, 6-5, 261
Passed for almost 4,000 yards and threw 33 touchdown passes as he led Washington State to its first Rose Bowl appearance since 1931. Leaf has a stronger arm and seems to be a more natural passer then Manning. However, he lacks Manning's poise and experience.

  2. Peyton Manning, Tennessee, 6-5, 230
Scouts feel he has been ready for the NFL for two years, and is the most experienced QB to enter the NFL in quite some time. Big strong pocket passer with a quick release and a deadly accurate arm. Son of former NFL QB Archie Manning.

  3. John Dutton, Nevada-Reno, 6-4, 219
A project, with good size and a strong arm. He started his college career at Texas but transferred after coaches wanted to make him a tight end.

  4. Brian Griese, Michigan, 6-2, 212
Will make a good back up QB. He's got poise and great leadership ability, but lacks the arm strength to be a starting NFL QB.

  5. Charlie Batch, Eastern Michigan
  6. Thad Busby, Florida State,
  7. Chris Keldorf-North Carolina
  8. Jonathan Quinn, Middle Tennessee State
  9. Ron Powlus, Notre Dame
  10. Dameyune Craig-Auburn
